This lineup boasts the return of Nine Inch Nails, as well as some common ground with Coachella in Mitski, DJ Shadow, Preoccupations and Glass Animals. Some other highlights include Angel Olsen, Cloud Nothings, Pinegrove, MGMT, Foxygen, Tyler the Creator, Girl Talk and many others.
There was a lot of good music that came out in 2016, and it’s terrible. Of course, no one is complaining about the excellent tunes, but the greater amount of good music, the harder it is to keep up with. There’s so much music that you couldn’t possibly give everything a thorough listen; therefore, here are some of the albums that won’t make my best-of list and may be on my honorable mentions list, but I still plan on giving a much more complete listen to in the end of 2016 and in 2017.

You Blew It!-“Sundial Song”
The Florida math-rockers have released the excellent Abendrot. The album is much more textured than the straightforward yet intricate punk of the group’s previous work. The whole album is worth the listen, but “Sundial Song” is an early standout. Continue reading
